My new idol!

I know i'm too old to have an idol. At my age, an idol is just someone that I look out for. But - no more pin-ups and posters. How about those days of collecting Yes! cards. 20cents each. Can trade for higher prices if it's in demand too.

Ok and so my last recalled idol was nic tse. but nic tse has since become papa tse. but hot papa tse shall be replaced my new idol, TVB Star BOSCO WONG! He may not be the best looking guy around, but I like!

Clearing out my wardobe.

2 of my bags that i'm ready to sell... i tink i have too many many bags? i'm always using the same few nowadays. there're so many that i'm not using already. I haven got to sorting out the clothes. -_-"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never expected to consider to put up any of my stuff on sale, so i din keep the receipt. People who are close to me will know I don't buy fakes.. it's an original or a no brand item...

* i'm not sure if the controllato card is for this bag or my ex-cardholder... as i said.. din expect to sell it. din keep the card properly... this one may not be for the bag.
if you're fussy about the receipt and controllato card, dun have to contact me...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Che Che New York. Bought 2 years plus back. Original was $300++ but i bought it at the sale. Prob paid about $150 at the sale. Selling for $50. Hardly used - mint condition.

Tragedy destroys husband's desperate hope

A touching story of how a man tried to raise money for his wife who suffered from leukemia. How desperate he tried to raise money for the operation, and that the operation was delayed till she was too weak. And eventually died of complications.

Who says money is not important? It could have saved her if she had it earlier for treament.

.............

The best course of treatment is a bone marrow transplant and Liu was soon bogged down by how he would come up with the money for the treatment.

................

Liu won and better still, his blog was put on the home page, attracting more attention. Soon there was enough money for the operation.

............

In July, 2008, Chang started becoming unresponsive to medication. An operation was now an urgency, but Chang was too weak. Doctors said the chances of success were less than 1 percent and refused to take the risk.

Energy saving idea?

Hah got this solar powered torch from IKEA. My fren bought this some time ago at $19 and it's on sale for $9!

I was thinking that it could be useful and could impress my dad. It's bright enough to do reading in my room. Could save me the nagging from my mum of falling asleep with the lights on and with less guilt of wasting electricity.

Daddy wants to buy another 3. -_-"

For a moment, i thought that this could be a great gift for those needy families, who sometimes have electricity cut off cuz they din pay their bills. good enough to light up a small room. not bright - but at least u can move around.

Hello Kitty MAC

This is a very late post, but I really have to whine about this. Saw this humongous road show for Hello Kitty MAC at VivoCity the weekend I went for Rasa Sentosa.

For a moment I was ecstatic that it was here! Until I realised most of the items were already sold out. *sigh I shd have listened to Runying and did the pre-order. Not that I wanted to buy many of the items. I only wanted.....

** This brush set...All I want is this....
Sad =(

Dinner Dilemma

Took this off a forwarded email... thought it is so funny and quite true. Not to that I do this often. Girls.... we are so stereotyped. Just say what you'd like to have for dinner... else - just follow with what your partner wants to eat.

Yes, We Pay!

An article on critical illness claims on Today's Wed 11 March Issue talks about critical illness claims. It says a doctor was infuriated that his patient was unable to claim on grounds that the cancer had not spread.

It's common among insurers that critical illness is only payable when it reaches stage 3. So for those who think that owning only a critical illness plan is sufficient (that is if the sum assured is even good enough) - think again.

Before you hit stage 3, there will be loads of treatment done to prevent it from reaching later stage. If there's no good medical plan and income replacement plan in place, you'd better have deep pockets for paying for the treatment. And with good luck, the illness is gone, the claim is not triggered - you'd have paid for everything out of your own pockets.

Not saying that everyone will get it (touchwood), but if you are so sure that you won't get it, why even bother to get "a little just in case?".

In an attempt to magnify the wording.... but it doesn't seem to work very well...

Quoted from the text:
" The exception: A Great Eastern spokeswoman who said this was “not true”. Evenfor Stage 1 breast cancer, the full sum assured is payable, she said."

Rasa Sentosa Shangri-la

We had a free night's stay with buffet dinner included at Rasa Sentosa last Saturday.

Having stayed in Shangri-la Singapore sometime last year, I did not hold high expectations for the place. And indeed, i was right about it. The room was nothing to shout about, so much so that I forgot to take a pic of it before we messed it up... It feels like a higher-classed version of a chalet.

Since it's only for a day, there was limited time to do anything much.

* played photo hunt at the arcade while waiting for the musical fountain (now known as sounds of the sea) showtime.

* seated at the amphitheatre waiting for the show to start.

* we had to pay $8 to watch the 30min laser and lights display. Honestly, I'm not impressed with the laser. It's nothing much, I thought the fountain display, with fireworks etc were nice on their own.

* sunny weather. wanted to go jacuzzi at the pool, but it's full of ang mos... not a single available deck chair to put my stuff. so i decided to stay in the room till check-out.

* and so ming started to flip the papers for our property search....

It was an experience to stay there, the great thing was it's free! But the thing is food SUX at Rasa Sentosa (I mean the buffet dinner and breakfast). Pls do not eat there unless you don't have a choice to. I'm serious. Those who know me well will know I'm not fussy about food.

The Body Shop Sale

Body Shop fans? The sale is here again. I'm going to skip it, cuz I end up buying alot of unnecessary items!

How bad has it gone to?

Got the below picture from a forwarded email today fr mao mao... I thought it really summarised how bad is the picture now. But seriously, if you have a stable job... recession - doesn't really impact you that bad right?

If you have savings and stable income, it's just a period where you need to be more prudent but not to cut back entirely on your expenses/luxuries!

Let's save the economy by spending more. How about using this voucher below to redeem movie tickets at discounted price (but read fine print. if you have OCBC or HSBC it's same or cheaper price).

Hello Kitty Golf

After a frustrating attempt to get a nice golf practice/slim bag, I decided to google. And found hello kitty golf bags/accessories!

It will be my dream to own this putter (below). This will be so much nicer to have than a Callaway or a taylormade. where do they sell all these?

and this subtle golf bag...
* don't really like this... overdone practice bag. but this is the size I want. Nike doesn't have something like that!

* and a pretty nice golf bag...

Yes I know if I carry all these to the golf course, I will never really be taken seriously. Again. But I really would love to have the putter. Can do without the bag.
