Air Show.

Besides the scorching hot weather, and lack of shelter, super congested transport issues...It was a pretty interesting day out at the air show.

Feel like a dry and flaky cookie now after being baked in the sun. The air show alone was 1h 30min under the sun.

History

Have you ever googled your name? I found this piece of old article from last feb with my name in it. Hee... It's history though. It's a really good memory of the HK Fashion Wk I had.

HONG KONG FASHION WEEK Fall/Winter-2007
ATTRACTS RECORDS NUMBER OF BUSINESS VISITORS –INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR REVIEW

Serina W. Chua, Buyer, Isetan (Singapore) Ltd., said, “It is for the first time that I am visiting World Boutique, Hong Kong and I am looking for ladies’ wear, particularly young and trendy designs. I am really impressed by the excellent service and scale of the exhibition, which is so grand and extensive. The information centre is very useful and HKTDCstaff are always there to help. Everything is just brilliant.”

Shokubo@Raffles City basement

Went to Shokubo last week after reading reviews on it in Life! It says it's a "Japatnese Marche".
Initially, we were real happy to find that there was not a queue outside. Until we realised that it's free seating, like a food court, so you had to look for the seats yourself! A staff did try to get us seats, but we found it first.

Variety was quite good, but the taste was so-so. It's more like food court standard (personal opinion). But for the price, I think it is just slightly above food court..generally you can get a main dish for under $10.

Worth just one try. Unless the food becomes nicer...

What Serina means....

What Serina Means

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.

You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

GE CNY celebration@ GE Centre

Of an elaborate CNY lunch. They set up stage at GE Centre, HQ. And invited celebrity host, Chen Jianbing, "Alamak" and singer of "881" fame etc.

Not exactly a very graceful event with the CNY songs, and Hokkien no.s from the 881 show. But the crowd kinda lapped it up. It's pretty boisterous though, Hokkien songs has this infectious tune to it...

CPF Life

Have you been following up with the Lifelong Income Scheme?

This would be what we call an annuity in the insurance industry... and it is nothing new. However, the new part would be that it's compulsory (almost) for those who are 55 yrs from 2013 onwards. Let's see if the private insurers would come up with more competitive plans.

It's good in it's own ways, but seems like it also prevents us from enjoying a lump sum that we have so painstakingly saved up for.. rather drawing it for life. Pros and cons. Life is full of difficult choices.

Kojiro reads

This would be the last of my updates on the kids. They went home last week, and will not see them till April when I'm in Tokyo.

* he has 2 new books: Thomas and The Story of Jesus.

* oh, and that is Barney too. His mum asks if he is acting smart - like a Uni student..

Kojiro doesn't like farewells too. He refused to look at me in the eye when he said bye bye...
Miss him already.

Kitazawas in my home

It was my pleasure to have the Kitazawas in my humble home! It was just before CNY...

The kids were great fun to have around, though Kojiro seemed to be in a bad mood. Throwing tantrums for a fair bit of time, he seemed to be upset that his nanny has left.

* Kojiro holding up my 2 kubrick hello kitty (*note: food in the mouth)

* Spidey-boy in Ultra-man pose.
* Aiko acting cute.* and again! but she really is a darling...
*innocent look - though she kinda trashed a fair bit of my stuff in my room.
* relaxing on my bed.
* i love taking pictures of them together. a rare shot that they are playing together. not fighting.
* a happy Kojiro* Kojiro in good mood. Just before he left.

* Sleepy Ai-chan and Kojiro with my parents. They love them too.

It'll be another year before they can visit again once Kojiro starts school in March.
